Welcome, Sindre!
Hello! My name is Sindre Wesley Petersen, and I’ve just started as a PhD student at the University of Bergen, supervised by Professor Monica Jordheim and Dr. Le Ba Vinh. I’m from Vaksdal, a small town about 30 minutes from Bergen by train. I completed my studies in analytical chemistry here at UiB. For my bachelor’s project, I worked with the Institute of Marine Research to quantify toxic trace elements in small fish species and examine how these levels relate to fish size. My master’s thesis focused on isolating and investigating natural products from marine sponges. During a break in my studies, I also worked at the Section for Forensic Toxicological Analysis in Norway. I’m excited to continue exploring natural products from marine organisms and study their bioactivity, while further developing my skills as an analytical chemist. Looking forward to getting to know you all!
