Ny dato/New date! UiB 75 år: Folkefest på Marineholmen – UoB 75 Year: Festival at Marineholmen
Universitetet i Bergen fyller 75 år i år og Det matematisk-naturvitenskapelige fakultet vil fokusere på Marineholmen og det rike innovasjonsøkosystemet som er knyttet opp i området mellom gamle Nygaardsbro og Møhlenpris. Lørdag 23. april 2022 kommer det til å myldre på hele Marineholmen. Hele byen inviteres til folkefest.
The University of Bergen celebrates its 75th anniversary, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences sets focus on Marineholmen and the rich innovation environment in the area between the old Nygaardsbro and Møhlenpris. On Saturday 23 April 2022, Marineholmen will be crowded and the whole city is invited to a festival.

Congratulations Dr. Mohamed
MSc. Mohamed Alzaabi successfully completed the PhD defense on 1 July by defending his thesis Analysis of Polymer Injectivity in Porous Media.
We congratulate Mohamed with the PhD degree and also the supervisors, principal supervisor Arne Skauge, (Energy Research Norway AS/KI) and the co-supervisors Øystein Pettersen (NORCE) and Sheadeh Masalmeh (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company).

Krav om to sensorar — minst éin ekstern
Stortinget har behandla og i dag vedtatt ny Lov for universitet og høgskular. Trass i gode og vektige motargument, er følgjande endring innført: «Krav om to sensorer ved alle eksamener der vurderingsuttrykket er gradert med karakterskalaen A til F, samt lovfestet krav om uavhengighet til den utdanningen der vurderingen skjer, for minst en av de to sensorene.» For vår del vil dette bety vesentleg auka sensorkostnader og administrasjon, og vesentleg større påtrykk for at våre fagpersoner skal vere ekstern sensor ved andre institusjonar. Det vil vere naturleg at vi ser nøye på val av «vurderingsuttrykk», dvs. om vi i større grad kan bruke Greidd/Ikkje-greidd i staden for A-F. Sjå meir her.
NFR – Tematiske kickoff for Horisont Europa
Gjennom syv ulike morgensendinger i uke 17 og 18 skal NFR gå gjennom de tematiske inndelingene i Horisont Europa og gi deg innsikt i hvor de mener det er gode muligheter for norske aktører.

The University Board is the highest governing body at the University of Bergen. During the digital election from 22 to 27 April, you can vote for candidates in your employee group.

EuroNanoForum 2021 5-6 May 2021 – Free registration
The EuroNanoForum 2021 conference will address the role of nano-enabled technologies and industries in the transformation towards EU prosperity. The event will bring forward the role of R&I, as well as the opportunities offered by EU’s next Framework Programme; Horizon Europe.
The event will bring together experts across different sectors to identify policy options and priorities. In addition to sharing insight on technical, industrial and social challenges, views and ideas will be discussed on the role of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials on EU’s Recovery. The different solutions for boosting the economy through clean technology will be examined, highlighting their benefits and practical challenges, with regards to safety, health and environment, as well as ethical and societal issues.
These ambitious goals of a greener, digital, resilient and sustainable economy and society can only be achieved by co-creating innovative solutions with the collective effort of key actors encompassing researchers, innovators, industries, regions, public authorities, investors and civil society.

Førsteamanuensis Alexander Sandtorv (UiO) er en tidligere UiB-kjemiker med mange molekyler i luften.
